Grief — Grief is the emotional response to loss and may follow the loss of money, trust, identity, relationships, imagined futures, or personal security. It can include sadness, anger, yearning, confusion, numbness, and temporary withdrawal. Grief and depression can coexist, particularly when hopelessness, loss of pleasure, impaired functioning, and negative self-worth become persistent and widespread. — Trauma and Loss
