Where You Are on Your Healing Path · 50 Questions

## Your Privacy Is Protected

#### We never see your identity

Your responses are processed in your browser and your email. Only you see any identifying information about you.

#### De-identified data supports research

With your permission and your identity removed, your de-identified answers are sent to the SCARS Institute for scientific research only. Data is never shared with third parties.

#### Keep your own copy

When you finish, you can save, email, or print your results on your own device — to keep, or to share with your therapist or mental health professional.

The SCARS Institute provides this tool to help you see where you are on your healing path after a scam and to decide what kind of support fits you now. You can save your results to share with your therapist or mental health professional.

I give my consent for my fully de-identified assessment data to be used for research purposes only. I understand that all personal identifiers have been removed from my responses, this information will not be shared with any third parties, and my participation is completely voluntary.

## About This Assessment

This self-assessment helps you and those who support you understand where you are right now in your recovery after a scam. It looks at your emotions, your attachment to the scammer or the fantasy, your beliefs about yourself and the world, your daily behavior, and your sense of connection and the future.

It is not a diagnosis. It is a snapshot that guides conversations with advocates, support groups, and mental health professionals.

For each statement, choose the answer that best matches how true it feels for you right now, based mainly on the past month. Answer honestly and without judging yourself. There are no good or bad scores, only information about where you are.

0 — Not true for me at all

1 — A little true for me

2 — Somewhat true for me

3 — Very true for me

4 — Almost always true for me

**Please Note.** This assessment was developed by the scientists and psychologists at the SCARS Institute based on experience working with large numbers of scam victims. It is not a diagnosis of a mental health condition — it gives you awareness and a useful starting point. We recommend taking a copy of your results to share with your counselor or therapist.
